An affirmation is a positive thought, deliberately chosen and visualized in our mind with the purpose of achieving a new and desired result in our life. In other words, what we do is provide our mind with the idea of an intention. In this way, our mind will produce whatever thing or effect we desire if we give it the proper opportunity.
Through repetition we can nourish our mind with positive thoughts and reach the desired goal. Whatever you direct your mind toward, you will accomplish.
If you think about the power of God, you will see that it is infinite. Consider that the task of the archangels and the legions of light is to obey your commands—your prayers, your decrees—to respond to you and fulfill them, provided that what you ask is in accordance with the will of God. As long as you are blessing life, asking for the protection of life, and requesting healing, God will answer you through His angels according to what is lawful, according to God’s will for you, and according to your karma.
At times, our karma requires that we suffer for a period, as Jesus suffered, so that we may attain a greater resurrection. Keep in mind that frequently using an affirmation is a process that will gradually establish itself in your mind and erase the old pattern of negative thought. In this way, you will firmly bring about the changes you so deeply desire in your life.
When making an affirmation, keep the following points in mind:
- In the first person.
- In the present tense.
- State your own name.
- Always in positive form.
- Using the exact key word.
